Married Spouses Ministry Kickoff Session

wedding 608

Thursday April 21
6:00-6:45 PM Food and Refreshments
6:45 -7:45 PM Session Time Neglia Hall

Please join us, Deacon Michael and Bonnie Younginer, for the first gathering of the Married Spouses Ministry.
An email to either of us that you are attending would be greatly appreciated to help with the food and drink prep.

Father Linsky asked us to form this ministry for married people, either as a couple or individually, and to provide a facilitated environment that would continue build up and support the important sacrament of holy matrimony within our parish family. We are not marriage experts or counselors. (We’ll leave that to the professionals!) We are though, two married disciples, meaning we have been and still are on a marital journey, and wish to be there in a facilitating manner for you.   We look forward to seeing everyone on April 21!

Quote from Saint John Paul II
“Christian marriage, like the other sacraments, whose purpose is to sanctify people, to build up the body of Christ, and finally, to give worship to God,” is in itself a liturgical action glorifying God in Jesus Christ and in the Church”.

Bakesale! April 10th!

St. Peter’s Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality is having their famous Spring Bake Sale, Sunday April 10, following the morning Masses.   Featuring delicious homemade cookies, brownies, muffins, and much more, you will definitely find something you like!   Money goes towards helping fund various Church Activities.  So bring some extra change with you, and go home with a delicious homemade desert or some scrumptious cookies.  Products will be labeled if they contain nuts!

Baptismal Preparation

A preparation class for parents and Godparents is scheduled for Saturday, April 16th at 3:30 p.m. in the Confernce Room (Bernardin Center).  At this session we will explore the meaning of the sacrament and familiarize you with how the Baptism is celebrated.   Both parents are asked to be present at the Baptism.  However, if for some valid reason one parent cannot attend the class, the Catholic parent must attend.

As part of the Baptismal Rite, parents are promising to raise their child in the faith.  So that the Church may have an expectation that the child will be raised in the Faith, parents must be registered, participating members of St. Peter’s for at least 6 months.  If you have any questions, please contact Donna Tomasini at or 803-779-0036

We delight in sharing this significant moment in your family’s ongoing faith development and pray that you will be enriched by your experience. St. Peter’s welcomes your child with great joy and looks forward to growing in faith and love with your family.

St. Vincent de Paul: thank you for all those who contributed

On behalf of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and myself here at St. Peter’s, we thank each of you for your many prayers, baked goods, Easter Baskets and your monetary gifts. We were able to feed 507 guest including 107 children who received Easter Baskets from your faithful giving to this holiday banquet for the homeless, elderly, handicapped and the poorest among us.

You will be blessed for your giving when we enter the kingdom of heaven.
